Donating by Text

To donate £5 by text, simply text 'BCI' to 70085. Texts costs £5 plus a standard rate message. You can also choose to give any amount up to £20 by texting ‘BCI’ followed by a number between 1 and 20. Always have the bill payer’s permission. 95% of your donation goes to directly support the BCI – you will also have the option to add Gift Aid – if you do, this means that a donation of £10 equates to £12 for the BCI.

By Post

You can post donations by cheque to us at:

NHS Lothian Charity

The Breast Cancer Institute (s03181)
2nd Floor, Waverley Gate
2-4 Waterloo Place
Edinburgh EH1 3EG

Cheques should be made payable to NHS Lothian Charity. Please indicate on the back of the cheque that you wish the funds to be applied to the Breast Cancer Institute fund s03181. Please do not sent cash.

Don't forget to include a gift aid declaration (see below).

Gift Aid

You can make your donation to NHS Lothian Charity worth 25% more with a simple Gift Aid declaration.

NHS Lothian Charity, can claim tax back from HMRC to benefit the BCI fund thanks to the government’s Gift Aid Scheme.

How it works

If you currently pay tax in the UK, and fill in our Gift Aid Declaration when you make a donation, we can claim back 25 pence for every £1 that you donate. So your donation of £30 is worth £37.50 to us, at no extra cost to you.

We can claim Gift Aid on any donation you may make in future, or over the previous four years. Donating with Gift Aid does not affect your tax status.

We can only claim Gift Aid on donations made personally by individuals, and not on behalf of a group or from a collection.
